t was a great honor to be invited by my former NFL team, The Raiders, for a gathering hosting both past and present players of the organization.

We will be meeting at our home – Allegiant Stadium. Before diving into trip, I’d like to outline some interesting facts about the club: Established in 1960, in Oakland California, we were first named the Oakland Senors, which was later changed to the current name, The Oakland Raiders.

Even having changed cities and moving to Los Angeles, we were already well known and had made a name for ourselves.

We had a little back and forth of relocating within California before the birth of our new home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rendering us the Las Vegas Raiders. No matter the location, the saying rings true – “Once a Raider, always a Raider.” I couldn’t miss the opportunity to catch up with old friends with whom made history.

My flight landed early and I checked into the “Delano.” Their service was top notch and worthy of being noted. The 43 story building has a computerized check-in system which makes for quicker and easier access. I commend them for their accuracy and the effectiveness of their process.

From the top of the hotel is a great view. On-site are an assortment of restaurants with a variety of foods, and their meals are great! Everything is luxurious and of high quality. They offer nothing less than the best. Their suites are cozy and the room service is phenomenal.

The location is perfect, with many amenities and activities close by. Mandalay Bay Casino is a few steps away and is lined side by side with retail shops and nice eateries. i.e., Johnny Rockets and Beast Mode Gear – Marshawn Lynch’s clothing line. Celebrities frequent this hotel for it’s exquisite features.

I got all of my playing stuff, like my helmet, my Raiders bag and a few other items before the meeting at Allegiant.

All of the players at the hotel so I bonded with some of my 2008 teammates, like John Bowie, Darrell Strong and a few others following check-in. I had an interview with the club press team, which was documented and set out with my buddies to the rooftop of the hotel. There were more players and a lot of Hall of Famers like Marcus Allen, Mike Haynes, Jim Otto, Andre Rison, Lester Hayes and many more legends.

I got a chance to catch up with my former coach, Speedy Washington, as well, and had a brief talk with Mark Davis.

We had a great time dining and drinking.
